The day began quietly at Six Senses Douro Valley, with both Kahei and Michael getting ready on the property, surrounded by the calm of nature and panoramic vineyard views.

Kahei spent her morning in one of the hotel’s serene suites, filled with soft natural light — the perfect backdrop for a relaxed and intimate getting-ready experience. The atmosphere was unhurried and intentional, allowing space to truly be present before the celebrations unfolded.

Michael prepared nearby, equally immersed in the peaceful surroundings. Having both partners get ready at the same location not only simplifies logistics but also creates a cohesive flow to the day — something we always recommend when planning destination weddings.

The couple decided to have their first-look before the ceremony. Which was a beautiful way to settle any pre-ceremony nerves.

Ceremony in the Olive Garden

The ceremony took place in the olive garden at Six Senses Douro Valley, a space that feels timeless, organic, and distinctly Portuguese.
