We were thrilled to be asked to photograph Niamh & Gavin's wedding in Rathsallagh House Wicklow. Rathsallagh House is renowned for its stunning grounds and beautiful landscape so we were delighted when we saw a break in the rain to run out and photograph some gorgeous natural couple shots with the added bonus of a fiery red sunset. Niamh and Gavin added some fabulous vintage wedding decorations to their day, these included a cupcake wedding cake and Niamh's delicate vintage headpiece. What was the best part of your wedding: The whole day was amazing so it's hard to pick one part. Here is a few... I loved the morning part getting ready with the girls - getting pampered and drinking Prosecco! The speeches were fantastic and it's a really special part of the day, very emotional! Also the band and the dancing later on was amazing... the dance floor was packed all night :)
Any tips for future brides:
1. Definitely take a few days off the week before the wedding. The last 2-3 weeks can be pretty stressful as there are so many last minutes things to get done. Try to have everything finished a few days before and then enjoy a couple of days relaxing before the big day - get a massage, spend time with your family etc. It really helped me relax and enjoy myself on the day.
2. Be organised... I am accountant so I love spreadsheets - I had a giant spreadsheet with all the wedding details tracked (budget, guest list, RSVPs, to do lists etc).
3. When doing up your budget, add an additional 10-15% on at the end because there can be so many items which you leave out of your budget but which crop up throughout the planning!
